Nokia XS-2426G-B Router Overview

The XS-2426G-B is a freestanding router (and Optical Network Terminal) and is connected by a flexible fibre patch lead to a fibre wall outlet - a small box permanently fitted to an interior wall by B4RN or trained volunteers. The flexible patch lead can be supplied in various lengths and care should be taken to avoid damage by animals or small children. A kink in the patch lead is enough to degrade or prevent the B4RN connection.

Features

LAN - 1 x 2500/1000/100 (LAN 4) and 3 x 1000/100/10 RJ45 ports with indicator lights located on the rear of the unit.

VoIP - 2 x SIP ports located on the rear of the unit

Guest Wi-Fi - to allow guests internet access while keeping your network safe.

Security - Supports WPA, WPA-PSK/TKIP, WPA2, WPA2-PSK/AES, WPA3, WPA3-SAE

We suggest only using LAN port 4 for devices capable of Gigabit (1000Mbps) and Fast Ethernet (100Mbps) speeds. Using LAN 4 for devices only capable of a 10Mbps connection may cause connection problems for that device.

Button Locations

WPS button - pairs devices to Wi-Fi - on the rear at the top of the interface strip

WLAN button - turns Wi-Fi on or off - on the rear of the unit below the WPS button

Reset button - pinhole on the base of the unit. Please don't attempt to reset the router. You may lose service and need our assistance to resolve.

Power button - at the bottom of the interface strip above the power socket

Information Label

The information label is located on the base of the unit and shows the following:

  • SSID (Wi-Fi network name)
  • Wi-Fi Key (Wi-Fi password)
  • Username - for browser based configuration of the router
  • Password - for browser based configuration of the router
  • MAC Address - base address shown with barcode
  • Serial Number - of the unit shown with barcode

Front Indication lights

NOTE: All the front panel lights can be disabled in the router configuration portal or the Nokia WiFi App for iOS or Android.

Troubleshooting

The top three lights (Power, PON and Internet) will be showing solid green if you have a working internet connection. The WLAN light should also be solid green to show that the router is broadcasting a Wi-Fi signal. If it isn't, press the WLAN button on the rear of the router. If you still have no service, restart your router by powering it off and back on.

If you have the B4RN Voice phone service and the TEL light is red or off, restart your router by powering it off and back on.
