Nokia App: Share Wi-Fi network name and password

This article explains how to share your Wi-Fi network credentials with someone else or to view them in order to connect a new device. You need to use the Nokia WiFi app in order to do this.

On the Home page of the Nokia WiFi mobile app tap on the blue Home network card.

You will now see a popup like this:

The easiest way to share the credentials with someone else's smart phone is to get them to open their camera app and scan the QR code on the popup card.

Another option is to share the network details (network name and password) via SMS, email, or other options to enable others to join the home network.

  1. Tap the Share iconFrame.pngbelow the popup card
  2. Select the mode to share the details of the home network. For example, text message, email, or other options. Your recipient will receive the network name and password (if it is a password-protected network) to login to the home network.

Note: The edit button enables you to change the Wi-Fi net work name (SSID) and/or password. Make sure you make a note of any changes as you will need to reconnect your device to the new network in order to further manage your network via the Nokia WiFi app.
