Now you have your new full fibre gigabit B4RN connection here is some information you may find helpful. This support site also has information about your router and also useful troubleshooting information.
Your line connection speed is 1Gbps. Real world tests over ethernet, with capable equipment and test site, will indicate speeds of 900+ Mbps, both on download and upload. Wi-Fi speeds will depend on the capabilities of your equipment, the distance the device is from the router, the construction materials of your property, the number of devices connected and many other individual factors. Wherever possible connect devices to your router using CAT5e or higher ethernet cables. This will always give you the best speed and will free up Wi-Fi bandwidth for Wi-Fi only devices. To connect via Wi-Fi, use the card on the back of your B4RN router.
Payment
We bill in advance on the 1st of the month for collection by Direct Debit 4 to 6 days later, depending on weekends and bank holidays.
If your service comes live part way through the month your first payment will also include a pro rata amount for that period. It will also include the £60 connection fee (unless indicated on your contract that you wish to pay the connection fee in instalments over 12 months).
Voucher Areas Only
If you live in an area with government funding, you will receive an email from [email protected] asking you to look out for the email from BDUK which comes from the address [email protected] This will contain a link for you to click and insert the password contained in the email. Please also click on this link to activate the voucher, which will release the government funding for your connection and helps us build your community project. Please check your spam or junk folders if you haven’t received anything within a few days of going live on B4RN.

B4RN Voice
B4RN Voice is a residential telephone service that runs over your B4RN gigabit full-fibre connection. If you're considering moving your "landline" phone service over to B4RN it is important that you do not cease your current phone service until you have made a decision and completed the move of your existing phone number to us. Ceasing your existing phone service too soon could result in you losing the number.

Contact with B4RN
As most of our contact is done via email, it is important that we always have your correct email address as we use it to contact you about network changes, planned maintenance and service disruptions.
If your email address changes or you would prefer us to use a different one, please inform the B4RN office as soon as possible.
The B4RN User Group (The BUG)
The B4RN User Group is an informal self-help group for users, prospective users and those interested in the B4RN fibre Internet service. At the sessions on Friday afternoon, we discuss loads of stuff; from home automation to the latest scams, suggestions on hardware you can connect and much more. So why not drop in on the online Zoom sessions and have a chat. Between them the BUG volunteers have experience in lots of areas, and they may be able to help you or point you in the right direction. They don't bite, and you can drop in and out of the meeting as you wish. It is also an opportunity for social interaction and a chance to share experiences with other B4RN users. Email [email protected] if you would like to be added to the mailing list to receive the Zoom invite for the Friday meetings.
On the first Friday afternoon of each month the BUG session comes live from B4RN HQ. Anyone who lives within reach of Melling is welcome to drop in and join in.
You can also post your queries in the BUG Facebook group to get help from the wider B4RN community
